Psychological Support Grounded in Research, Training, and Experience.

While studying psychology at Izmir University, I participated in research on discrimination, marginalization, and exclusion. During my undergraduate years, I had the privilege of learning from my highly respected professor Ekrem Düzen, who taught me that therapy is a form of art. I am deeply grateful for his guidance and support.

I completed my clinical internships at the Austrian St. George Hospital and the Balıklı Greek Hospital in Istanbul. These experiences gave me space to reflect on addiction, psychological resilience, and individuals facing extreme circumstances. In addition to my clinical work, I participated in projects supporting refugee children, volunteered with LGBTQ+ communities, and contributed to various human rights initiatives—all of which became foundational to my identity as a therapist.

After contributing to several research projects at Koç and Bielefeld Universities in 2017, I moved to Ireland in 2018. Receiving therapy training in both Turkey and Ireland allowed me to experience therapeutic approaches across diverse cultural contexts, which strengthened me professionally. The knowledge and experience I gained from both regions now help me approach clients with a broader and more inclusive perspective.

I completed my Master's degree in Applied Psychology at Dublin Business School. My thesis focused on the 2011 Van earthquake in Turkey and explored the relationship between trauma and belief in a just world.Afterwards, I received psychotherapy supervisions and since 2021, I have been working as a psychotherapist. You can refer to the section Area & Approaches to learn about my qualifications and expertise.

I have placed particular focus on developing my skills around trauma because unresolved trauma does not only affect individuals—it also leaves deep scars on society. Over time, it can lead to new traumas and become entrenched through intergenerational transmission. As a human rights advocate, I believe that access to mental health care is a fundamental right—and I place great importance on solidarity. In line with this belief, I co-founded Dayanışma Terapi, an affordable therapy platform that prioritizes university students. I believe healing can be as collective as it is individual. Sometimes it’s a community, sometimes a therapist, and sometimes just someone who listens… The power of solidarity not only eases loneliness—it also gives people the courage to keep going. And solidarity is a form of healing in itself—we heal when we offer support, not only when we receive it.
